Calculated field: removing "domain name" from [ME]
When I use [ME] in a calculated field (after the usual tricks) it returns a username of <domain name>\usernameIs there a SharePoint formula I can use to strip off the <domain name> part preceeding the username? Or is there another function that returns only the "username" part?TIA,Barkingdog

When I tried to add [ME] to calculated column, it shows "Calculated columns cannot contain volatile functions like Today and Me."Could you please let me know how you use [ME] in calculated column?Sincerely,
Lambert Qin

Labert,Seehttp://www.sharepointresource.com/post/2009/06/03/Using-Today-or-Me-in-SharePoint-calculated-columns.aspx>>>Before creating your calculated column you will need to create a column called Today or Me (depending on the calculation you want to create). Once this has been created, SharePoint lets you use the [Today] or [Me] functions in the calculation. >>>It's like so many SharePoint things that one wants to do but are not immediately available. A funky little trick that may or may not work in the next SharePoint version.Barkingdog
